"I would be very wary of sharing my pet owner data with Meta en masse. That’s because they have incentives outside of our mission to keep the local very clinic at the heart of the pet care journey.

However, it’s not my data, is it? I’ve always insisted it is the clinic’s data - the pet owners have put that trust in them. And, some clinic owners/operators want to be able to communicate with pet owners via WhatsApp at least some of the time. Given this, just as we did with SMS, the web widget, PetsApp web, and the PetsApp app itself - we should make the communication as secure (to maintain trust) and convenient as possible.

Following extensive feedback from our PetsApp Together community, we have reviewed the preferences of veterinary clinics worldwide. The resounding conclusion is that clinics, as the data owners, all practices should have full flexibility in how they communicate with their pet owners on a case-by-case basis."
