The Veterinary Influencer: Building a Social Audience

The Veterinary Influencer: Building a Social Audience

In 2020, the Internet seems to exist mostly to share content about animals. It’s a rare day that you log onto Facebook without seeing a new lolcat or good doggo. From the Twitter account “We Rate Dogs” to cats dressed as Batman, we are a nation in love with animals. For veterinarians, the Internet presents a ready-made audience and opportunity to share information about pet care, veterinary services and wholesome pictures of adorable animals. But where should you start?

I have worked in digital marketing for ten years, helping brands to build audiences on social media platforms. In this live session, I will help you to understand how social media can help veterinarians to grow their network, build awareness of new services and create a strong brand identity. We will also chat about the risks and potential downsides of social media – and how to avoid them.

My presentation will also cover which social media platforms are right for you, and what content will resonate best with customers. Crucially, we’ll also talk about how to monitor and measure your performance on social media, to ensure the time you put in delivers measurable results, whether that’s through increased inbound enquiries, new customer registrations or sales. I will share some of my favourite examples of businesses using social media to promote their offerings, and discuss how this can be applied to any sort of veterinarian setting. There will also be cute dogs.
